Living Art: Bonsai Trees by Kentuckians in the Japanese Tradition - HOP Reception & 3-Day Event
Our Sept HOP is postponed.
See you in Nov!
MISSION: Integrated into the Lexington Shambhala Meditation Center, Mill & Max Contemplative Arts fosters engagement with the whole of art so that we may enliven, awaken, and contribute as inspired human beings in the creation of enlightened society. Art is not a thing, but a sacred path of pure potential. Whether as makers or as audience, we can experience the present through art.
OUR SUMMER SHOW: Special, RARE, 3-day event!
Bonsai exhibitions are un-common in Central Kentucky, but for this weekend's LexArts HOP our Mill&Max Gallery will be blessed with over 20 trees in the traditional Japanese style, all of them raised locally!
During the Friday July 16th HOP and on Sat 12-3pm and Sun 12-3pm, you'll even get to meet some of the local Bluegrass artists that keep this ancient Asian tradition alive.
The exhibition will also feature select floral works by Ikebana master Brooke Pohl.
NOTE: Some trees will be available for purchase. This is a unique opportunity to obtain genuine Bonsai from known, expert cultivators.
Light refreshments will be provided during HOP night on July 16th.
Located at the corner of Mill & Maxwell Streets, we have free parking and are only a 2-block walk to the heart of downtown.
