Enchanted Meadow | Forest Muse
photographs by Evelyn Astrid Knight
Evelyn’s photographs blend our in-focus, tangible world with a blurry, ambiguous liminal dimension, encouraging us to contemplate our assumptions about the everyday flowers and trees we might overlook. The Forest Muse Series centers on The Tree to explore the surprising shades of feeling and energy that nature can evoke in us. In The Enchanted Meadow Series, flowers from Kentucky’s Clear Creek inhabit a multi-layered dreamscape where color and contrast transmit what lies within the image as well as beyond it.

MISSION: Integrated into the Lexington Shambhala Meditation Center, Mill & Max Contemplative Arts fosters engagement with the whole of art so that we may enliven, awaken, and contribute as inspired human beings in the creation of enlightened society. Art is not a thing, but a sacred path of pure potential. Whether as makers or as audience, we can experience the present through art.
